Student Scholarships

By investing in the education of local students, we hope to contribute to the overall growth and health of our communities, fostering a culture of learning and advancement. Our scholarships help graduating high school seniors reduce the financial burden of pursuing higher education.  


  1. Complete and save the scholarship application form.  
  1. Students and a parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization page.  
  1. Use the following prompt to either write a 500-1000 word essay or create a video that is at least 1 minute long.  
    • Credit unions focus on “people helping people.” Write 500 to 1,000 words describing the ways you follow this philosophy and how your service has impacted your personal life and your community.
    • If a student decides to create a video, it must be uploaded to YouTube and the link shared with IRFCU. This is a security measure. We will not accept videos submitted any other way.  
    • Be creative!  
  1. Submit your application and entry online or in-person by 03/01/2024 
  1. Funds will be paid directly to the college or university.  

*Eligible applicant must be a graduating high school senior attending a two-or four-year community college, college, trade school, or university. 

*Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher

Applications and essays are reviewed.

April

Scholarship winners are notified.

June-July

Scholarship checks will be mailed to the individual institutions.
