Financial Education

Slide 1

At IRFCU, we’re all about helping local students crush it in the finance game. We have an amazing financial education program about all things money- from budgeting hacks to saving like a pro.

Our Financial Literacy Advocate visits schools to host interactive workshops and classes with students. We team up with teachers to make sure we’re covering the stuff that matters for a successful financial future! It’s not just about the numbers; it’s about making money talk that makes sense for students, kicking off their financial journey with confidence.

IRFCU: we’re turning dollars and sense into common sense!

Lauren

During the school year, Lauren visits our local schools to conduct financial education classes, mock interviews, career days, and more! Lauren is able to tailor curriculum to compliment a teacher’s syllabus or develop individual lessons based on requests.

What We Offer

Through these engaging sessions, IRFCU aims to empower students with essential knowledge about budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions. The credit union recognizes the importance of equipping students with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of personal finance in the real world.

Our Reality Fairs are designed to simulate real-world financial scenarios, offering students a practical glimpse into the complexities of managing personal finances. Participants navigate through stations representing various aspects of financial decision-making, including budgeting, saving, and making informed choices about expenses. The Financial Reality Fair enables students to grasp the importance of financial responsibility in a hands-on way, preparing them for the challenges and decisions they will encounter as they enter adulthood. This immersive event aligns with IRFCU’s commitment to promoting financial literacy and empowering the next generation with the skills needed for a secure financial future.

Visit our Dollar and Sense page for interactive games for children to learn the basics of money management.
