IRFCU Card Conversion

Slide 1

Exciting Card Conversion Coming This September!

We’re making some exciting changes to bring you more convenience, enhanced technology, and a unified experience across all your IRFCU cards!

What’s Happening?

In September, IRFCU will be undergoing a card conversion, transitioning all IRFCU credit cards to MasterCard. While our debit cards (consumer and business) are already MasterCard, this move brings our credit cards to Mastercard as well, providing a consistent, seamless experience for all members.

What This Means for You:

Tap-to-Pay on ALL Cards

We’re excited to offer Tap-to-Pay functionality on every IRFCU card—debit and credit. Just tap your card at checkout and you’re on your way!

Credit Cards in Mobile & Online Banking

No more juggling multiple apps! With this upgrade, your IRFCU credit card will be fully integrated into our mobile and online banking platforms. That means:

  • One app.
  • One login.
  • Total control at your fingertips.

New Credit Cards Coming Your Way

Before the conversion, all credit card holders will receive a brand-new MasterCard, featuring our fresh new card designs. Once we officially convert, your old VISA card will be deactivated, so you’ll need to activate your new card to continue using it without interruption.

Debit Cards Will Stay the Same… For Now

Since your IRFCU debit card is already a MasterCard, there’s no immediate change. However, you’ll automatically receive a new Tap-to-Pay debit card when your current card reaches its expiration date—featuring our exciting new card look!

Important Dates to Remember

Credit card holders should look out for their new Mastercard credit cards arriving via mail in the beginning of September. Please follow the accompanying instructions to activate your new card(s) before September 22.

Before September 22, continue to use your existing Visa credit card. Your new Mastercard credit card will not work until September 22nd.

Please note: All existing Visa credit cards will be deactivated as of September 22. From this date forward, please start using your new Mastercard for all transactions.

Why This Conversion Matters

We’re making this change to:

  • Offer greater convenience and modern technology
  • Improve access to your cards through IRFCU’s secure digital banking
  • Deliver a more streamlined and unified experience for all members

We’re thrilled about this upgrade and can’t wait to bring you a better banking experience. Thank you for being a valued IRFCU member!

Stay tuned—more information is coming soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Once you receive your new card, you should activate it by calling the number listed on the activation label on the front of the card.

Some more tips:

  • Call from the phone that’s number is listed as primary on the account for that card.
  • The voice activation can be sensitive, we suggest you mute the call and use the phone’s keypad to type in your numbers.
  • Having trouble? Visit the branch for assistance or give us a call!

Debit Card numbers will NOT change.

Credit Card numbers, expiration dates, and CVV numbers will be different than your current card. You’ll need to update your automatic and saved payment information after the card conversion on September 22, 2025.

Don’t forget to update your card information wherever you have it saved! Digital wallet, subscriptions, streaming services, and anywhere it’s set up to pay a bill.

Post conversion, both debit and credit cards will be manageable through the IRFCU mobile app and online banking. You will no longer need a separate app to manage your credit card.

Yes, digital wallet capabilities will be available for your debit and credit cards.
